The days are getting longer, the weather is getting nicer, and it’s time to get out and about in Glenview! Here a list of mini-trips to take around the Glenview area, celebrating library partnerships and using library resources:
- Visit a new-to-you park. Glenview Park District has a full list of GPD parks on their website. (We’re pretty partial to Jackman Park, but Community Park West has a rock climbing wall!)
- Take a trip to a real working farm at Historic Wagner Farm. Your GPL librarians will be there for storytime in May!
- Enjoy a day in Downtown Glenview or at The Glen Town Center supporting local businesses.
- Play at Kohl Children’s Museum and mark your calendar’s for STEAM Stories on the first Sunday of April and May.
- Learn about the land, plants and animals, and the history unique to Glenview at The Grove. [Please note, the Discovery Room is currently closed for renovations.]
- Bike your way around Glenview by finding new paths with Bike Glenview.
- Learn about Glenview’s history at the Glenview History Center on Tuesday afternoons.
- Spend a day at Gallery Park. Run around in the hedge maze, play in the sand, and read the library’s StoryWalk spring book: Octopuses One to Ten.
- Check out a Museum Pass from the library and explore further than Glenview. The library’s two programs offer tickets and discounts to popular attractions like Chicago Botanic Gardens, Brookfield Zoo, Chicago Children’s Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, and more!
- Visit the library! Not only do we have tons of children’s programs and activities, we’re also the home of the only bookstore in Glenview. And we’re always looking forward to seeing you!
