The only thing better than reading great books is talking about them with friends! At GPL we offer 4 book discussions. Choose one or all. Books and materials are available at the Reader Services desk about a month before the date of the book discussion.
Our book discussions are friendly, welcoming, and convenient. If you’ve never been in a book discussion before, they are a good way to get your feet wet. We do the planning, provide the books and the space, and guide the discussions. All you have to do is show up. Maybe you’ll make some new bookish friends.

Page Turners
Meets in the afternoon on the first Monday of the month in the Community Room. Reads popular fiction, some nonfiction. Just drop in; no registration required.
BookBites
Meets in the evening offsite, at North Branch restaurant, on the first Thursday of the month. Reads popular fiction, some nonfiction. Co-sponsored with the Niles-Maine District Library. Just drop in; no registration required.
Great Books
Meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the library. Reads great works and discusses big questions. Just drop in; no registration required.
The Past Tense Book Discussion
Our newest offering. Reads historical nonfiction with connections to Glenview’s past. Meets at the Glenview History Center. Does require registration.
