A plush red fox holds a Glenview Public Library card that reads “Spark Your Curiosity,” with blurred library bookshelves in the background. This September, a Glenview Public Library card can unlock more than books. Glenview Public Library is partnering with more than 25 local businesses to offer special promotions and discounts to Library cardholders throughout the month in celebration of National Library Card Sign-Up Month.

From September 1–30, cardholders can show their Glenview Public Library card at participating businesses to receive exclusive offers on entertainment, dining, shopping, classes, services, and more. Deals include discounts on art and music classes, tutoring, fitness programs, childcare, home repair services, and other local offerings.

“There are so many great local businesses in Glenview, and we’re excited to partner with them for this campaign,” said Communications Director Hilary Gabel. “We hope it will be a fun way to celebrate the value of a library card while encouraging residents to discover and support businesses in our community.”

Glenview residents who don’t yet have a library card can sign up in person at the Library between September 1–30 and receive a special gift, while supplies last, and can enter a raffle to win a Cozy Reading Essentials Gift Basket.

To apply, residents can visit the Library’s Circulation Desk with a valid Illinois photo ID showing their current address. Children under age 16 must have a parent or guardian present.
