GPL has eliminated overdue fines. Due dates still apply to checked-out items. If the item is not returned by the due date, up to three overdue notices are sent:
- 3 days overdue
- 15 days overdue
- 28 days overdue (Your account is blocked. Once the item is returned, the block will be removed.)
After 45 days past the due date a billing notice for the replacement cost of the item is sent.
After 66 days past the due date your account may be sent to collections and charged a $10 fee.
Most people want to return their items on time, but sometimes that isn't possible. Our objective is to get materials back, so they are available for someone else to check out. Therefore, everyone receives a reminder when items are overdue.
Lost or damaged items will result in a fee charged for the item.
