We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new website coming this January. Last year, a team of Library staff set out to explore ways to enhance GPL’s digital experience. We determined that we wanted our website to engage current and new users, connect our patrons to materials and services, and promote the value of the Library by spotlighting offerings and sharing its impact. We wanted a website that would do all this intuitively, leading to easy discovery and an optimal digital experience.
To make this happen, we partnered with BiblioCommons, a software company dedicated to helping libraries create dynamic, user-friendly digital spaces where communities of readers and library-users come together and discover all the Library has to offer. Our new website comes with an enhanced catalog with improved search results, a new events calendar that seamlessly integrates with the website, and more effective ways to showcase collections and services.
We are excited to share our new website, and Library staff will be ready to walk you through new features and show you how to make the most of this valuable resource. Public preview begins in December, with a full launch in January.
