July is Disability Pride Month! The Americans with Disability Act (ADA), the landmark legislation that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities, was passed on July 26, 1990. The Library is flying the Disability Pride Flag in recognition of individuals living with disabilities. As an institution dedicated to being a welcoming place for all and enriching lives through open access to information and ideas, displaying the flag demonstrates a commitment to these values while raising awareness and amplifying the voices of community members with disabilities.
