Letter from the Library Director

I hope you've had a relaxing summer filled with family, friends, and lots of great books. As we turn the page toward fall and the back-to-school season, it's a perfect time to reflect on the ways our Library supports and strengthens our community.

One of the most meaningful and often unseen ways our Library serves the community is through strong partnerships with other local agencies. From the Village of Glenview and the Park District to School Districts 34 and 225, we work together to share resources, align efforts, and make life better for everyone who calls Glenview home.

Through these collaborations, every student and teacher in Districts 34 and 225 can get a library card and access our print and digital collections to enhance learning. This partnership helps us avoid duplicate spending across institutions, so your tax dollars stretch further and serve more people.

Our partnership with the Village and the Glenview History Center is another great example of community collaboration in action. Together, we're helping preserve Glenview's past, including hiring a new curator for the History Center, a role made possible by this shared commitment.

We also team up regularly with the Park District, sharing space, combining programming talent, and co-hosting events for our residents. From storytimes at Wagner Farm to seasonal
celebrations, these joint efforts help create more opportunities without adding extra cost.

At the heart of these partnerships is the shared goal to serve our community thoughtfully, creatively, and with fiscal responsibility. Every dollar saved through collaboration is a dollar
reinvested in the services, programs, and spaces that make Glenview such a special place to live.

Thank you for supporting the Library. It's an honor to serve you.

Lindsey Dorfman, Library Director
