Submit your work to the 2023-24 Art & Video Contest

All area students in Kindergarten through 4th grade are invited to enter this year’s art contest. Character Counts celebrates and reminds us of our power to do good. This year’s contest theme is CREATE A CHARACTER COUNTS SUPERHERO. How can your superhero show one or more of the pillars of Character?

Entries will be reviewed by judges and a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner will be chosen in each of the two grade categories K-2nd grade and 3rd-4th grade. Monetary prize awards are generously sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Glenview-Northbrook. Prize awards will be presented to the winners at a February Village of Glenview Board of Trustees meeting. Artwork may also be featured on next year’s Glenview Sunrise Rotary Hero Hustle race shirt!

Contest Rules & Submission Guidelines

  • Create original artwork connected to this year’s theme of Superheroes.
  • The entry deadline is December 31, 2023.
  • Drop off your artwork at the Glenview Public Library or your elementary school’s front office. Please include the following information:
    • Student Name
    • School and Grade Level
    • Parent Phone Number
    • Parent Email Address
  • You are also welcome to upload a JPEG or PNG image of your artwork with an online submission form, opens a new window. By submitting an entry, permission is given for its use, publication, and/or display.

Video Contest (grades 5-8)

All area students in 5th through 8th grade are invited to enter this year’s video contest. Character Counts celebrates and reminds us of our power to do good. This year’s theme is CREATE A CHARACTER COUNTS SUPERHERO.

Contest Rules

  • Create an original video connected to this year’s theme of Character Counts Superheroes.
  • The entry deadline is December 31, 2023.
  • Students can submit individually or in teams.
  • Videos should be between 15 seconds and 3 minutes in length.
  • Upload a MOV or MP4 to our online submission form, opens a new window. By submitting an entry, you give permission for its use, publication, and/or display.

Suggestions

  • Live action is encouraged. Images may be used only if they are original material, which means taken or designed by the contestant.
  • No copyrighted or trademarked material will be accepted.
  • Videos must be in good taste and must not contain indecent content or physical violence. No fighting is allowed, even to show that it is wrong.
