MLK Day of Service

Looking for a meaningful way to kick off 2026? Join us at the Glenview Public Library on January 19 from 1–3 PM for a special MLK Day of Service! This relaxed, drop-in event is a wonderful way to support local organizations, connect with others, and make a positive impact in our community.

We’re excited to welcome several incredible organizations that will be leading hands-on service projects. You’ll have the opportunity to support:

  • Debra Gelfand Foundation
  • Youth Services of Glenview Northbrook
  • Northfield Township Food Pantry’s Birthday Bags (bag decoration only; organization will not be on-site)

Each organization will host a table with activities you can jump into at your own pace, so feel free to stop by, learn more, and lend a helping hand wherever you can.

The Glenview Public Library is proud to partner with these groups to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We hope this event inspires community connection, service, and year-round giving.

Interested in continuing to make a difference? The Library also offers ongoing volunteer opportunities for both teens and adults. Visit our volunteer page to learn more and submit a volunteer application.
