Celebrate National Library Week!

National Library week is from April 6-12 this year, and we couldn't be more excited! The theme this year is Drawn to the Library. Millions of people across the country visit their libraries every week - so what’s the draw? Everything! From books and programs to crafts and technology - whatever draws you to the library, we're glad to have you. Read on to find out how you can celebrate at GPL.

Programs

We have some wonderful programs for all ages:

Graphic Novel Hangout (grades 3-8)

Friday, April 4, 4:30-5:30 PM • Youth Program Room

Grab a snack and settle in with a graphic novel that could become your new favorite. Share a title you love, or discover something great that you haven't read yet! Drop in.

Library Scavenger Hunt (grades K-3 w/adult)

Sunday, April 6, Noon-12:45 PM • West Entrance

Hunt for hidden clues throughout the Library to win prizes!

A Novel Exchange (all ages w/adult)

Friday, April 11, 5:30-6:30 PM • Community Room West

Are you ready to trade an old favorite for a new one? Bring a book (or a few!) that you've read and loved to share with someone else. Make a trade for a new favorite and meet other book lovers just like you!

How to Make the Most of Your GPL Card

Here are some pro-tips on how you can make the most of your GPL card:

Pause Holds

Going out of town? Want to hold off on a book until you're ready? Want to make sure you get the rest of that new series you picked up ASAP? Check out the "Pause Hold" function, available in your online account. Simply click the Pause Hold button and select a date. We can't guarantee the item will be ready on that date, but you'll keep moving up the queue until that date. You can also unpause a hold at any time!

Library of Things

Our ever-growing library of things has so much to offer. Have a home DIY project? Need a wifi hotspot? Hosting a movie night in your own backyard? We've got you covered.

Digital Library

What doesn't our digital library have? From free access to the New York Times (yes, even the crossword!), to genealogy databases, to job hunting resources, you can use the library from the comfort of your own home, on the road, or even while traveling internationally.

Catalog Tools
