• How do I log in to the app for the first time?

  After you download the GPL App, you will need to enter your library username or barcode and your 4-digit PIN or password to login. This is the same information you would use to access your account on the website. Please contact us if you'd like help.

• Where can I download the app?

  The GPL App can be downloaded to compatible phones or tablets from the Apple App Store, opens a new window or Google Play for Android, opens a new window.

• What are the device requirements?

  The GPL App requires iOS 15 or higher for Apple devices, and OS 9 or higher for Android devices.

• What can I do with the app?

  Use the GPL app to discover new titles and staff recommendations, place holds, manage your account, and register for programs and events. The GPL app allows you to manage multiple library accounts for your family. Best of all, you can access your digital library card right from your device to check out items at the Library.

• Where can I find my digital library card?

  In the app, tap the library card icon in the top right corner of the home screen. Your library card barcode will appear.

• How do I add and access multiple library cards?

  1. On the home screen, tap on the library card icon in the top right corner.
  2. From the My Library Cards screen, tap "Add a card". Enter the login credentials for the card you would like to add. Logging in requires:
     • Your Library barcode (the 14-digit number on the library card) OR username.
     • Your PIN or password.
  3. Upon successful login, the library card will be added, but will default to being inactive. If you would like to switch to this account immediately, tap "Use this card".
  4. Some additional notes:
     • There is a maximum limit of 8 cards that can be added.
     • When you log in with a new account from the login screen, that card is automatically added and will become the active account.
     • Added accounts do not persist across multiple devices that you might have the app installed on. Accounts need to be added for each device separately.

• How do I switch between accounts?

  1. On the Home screen, tap on the library card icon.
  2. On the My Library Cards screen, swipe to the card that you would like to activate and tap "Use this card".
  3. A message saying "Successfully switched cards" will appear at the bottom of the screen, and the activated digital card will move to the first spot. The currently active account is always the first card in the collection of cards.
  4. If you go back to the Home screen on the app, the username or name listed at the top will have changed to the one associated with the active card.

• How do I customize my home screen?

  Tap on settings (gear icon) in the top right corner of the home screen. Open the section labeled “Customize home screen.” You can choose which content carousels (New the Library, For Later, Events, etc.) are shown and in which order they appear.

• How do I see what items I have checked out in the app?

  Tap on the My Borrowing icon on the bottom navigation bar of the GPL App. If you have items due within 3 days, you can view them by tapping “Due soon” at the top of the screen.
