Letter from the Library Director

Connect With Your Community at the Library

GPL is setting its sights on becoming an even stronger community hub over the next several years by offering meaningful ways for our community to engage with the Library and each other. This work includes developing new experiences that reflect and appeal to our diverse community and expanding and enhancing relationships with local groups and community partners. Our Community Connections programs are a great example of this work in action. These illuminating panel discussions allow Glenview to engage in conversations on various important topics, learn more about what is happening in the community, and connect with neighbors.

Our upcoming event, Community Connections: An Asian American Conversation, promises to be engaging and informative. Long-time Glenview resident Yvonne Wolf will facilitate a panel discussion that will give members of Glenview's Asian-American community a chance to share their experiences with others. We are excited to offer this program because events like this provide an important opportunity for people of all backgrounds to learn from one another's experiences and to shape our understanding of our shared humanity through dialogue and exchange. You can read more about this program on page 13. We hope to see you there!
