The Glenview Public Library has a vacancy for a part-time Paraprofessional I in the Reader Services Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting adults and teens with book, movie and music questions at the Reader Services and Audiovisual public service desks; instructing patrons in the use of downloadable materials; and performing various collection-related duties within the department.
Applicants should enjoy working with the public, be proficient in the use of technology, be able to work within a team environment and demonstrate familiarity with popular materials in a variety of formats. Excellence in customer service in patron and staff interactions and an enthusiastic attitude are essential.
This position reports to the Collection Manager and works closely with the Collection Management team.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or an LTA certificate and a minimum of one year relevant library experience, preferably in a public library setting.
Schedule: Approximately 18 hours per week; schedule must be flexible, to include evenings and weekends.
Hiring Range: $14.36 - $16.42/hr. (DOQ)

The Glenview Public Library has a part-time opening for a Project Coordinator in the Communications Department. The Project Coordinator supports all aspects of the daily operations of the Communications Department. The primary focus of the position is to assist the Communications Director with the Library’s marketing and public relations functions. This includes writing/editing promotional materials, the quarterly newsletter, and press releases; adult program, special event, exhibit and display assistance; website content management, development and monitoring of the Library’s social media presence; and support for the varied administrative functions of the Communications Office. Ability to work independently, to prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines, and to multi-task— all with a meticulous attention to detail and efficiency— are key to success in this position.
Requirements: Minimum two years college; relevant four-year college degree preferred. Progressive experience in public relations, marketing, social media, copy writing, editing, and program coordination, preferably in a non-profit environment.
Schedule: Approximately 18 hrs./wk. Schedule TBD. Will include some evenings and weekends.

The Glenview Public Library is looking for a part – time Security Monitor to maintain order, and ensure a safe environment for library patrons. Responsibilities include supervision of public areas (interior and exterior). May be responsible for securing the building and light maintenance, meeting room set-ups, etc.
Requirements: High school diploma required; some college and/or previous security experience preferred.
Schedule: 18 hours per week, to include late afternoon and evening as well as alternate weekend hours.
