Unit Supervisor- ILL/Circulation

The Glenview Public Library seeks an enthusiastic and energetic individual to fill this position which is specifically responsible for overseeing the processing of ILL borrowing and lending requests and holds in the CCS Consortium, for supervising and training Circulation staff to assist in ILL transactions, compiling ILL statistics for local, regional and national reports, and ensuring that all user requests for interlibrary loan (ILL) items are addressed in a timely manner. This candidate will also be expected to work at any of the Circulation Department’s public service points.

Requirements: Applicants must have a working knowledge of personal computers, including e-mail and Windows based operations, Integrated Library Systems, preferably Sirsi Dynix, as well as knowledge of other library applications relating to Circulation. Knowledge of OCLC, FirstSearch a must. Minimum of an Associate Degree or LTA preferred; library experience, including experience in Inter-library loan required.

Schedule: Full-Time, 37.5 hour per week position, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Hiring Range: $38,788-$44,329, (DOQ). An excellent benefit package is included.

Paraprofessional II

The Glenview Public Library has a part-time opening for a Paraprofessional II in the Reference Services Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: helping patrons with informational and directional questions, in person and over the phone; instructing patrons in the use of the online databases and catalog system; teaching computer classes; and various duties within the department, which may include coordinating displays and selecting print materials in assigned area.

Applicants should enjoy working with the public, be proficient in the use of technology, be able to work within a team environment and demonstrate familiarity with a nonfiction collection. Excellence in customer service in patron and staff interactions and strong communication skills are required.

Requirements: BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university, and a minimum of two years related experience in a public library setting. LTA certificate also preferred.

Schedule: Approximately 16/hours per week; must be flexible; mornings, afternoons and evenings required, plus weekend rotation.

Hiring Range: Begins at $18.96/hour – DOQ.

Shelver I (Part-time)

The Shelver I position is responsible for sorting and shelving all library materials as well as maintaining the orderliness of all library collections.

Requirements: Applicants must be fluent in oral and written English and must have a high school degree or equivalent.

Schedule: 15 hours per week; includes day, night and weekend hours.

Hiring Range: $8.31 – $9.43/hour (DOQ)
