The IT Technology Assistant is responsible for deploying and supporting technology-related products within the Library, including the installation, configuration and support of hardware, operating systems and application software on Library-owned public and staff computers; creating and maintaining user email and computer network accounts. This individual assists in supporting the Library VoIP phone system and related voicemail service; supports a variety of Library-provided audio-visual products used by staff and patrons, diagnoses and resolves hardware and software issues, and provides technical support to end users.
Requirements: Position requires excellent communication, customer service, and computer support skills. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft programs and desktop operating systems, basic knowledge of server operating systems and Windows Domain Administration and a thorough understanding of workstations in a networked environment is required. Familiarity with Office 365, Google Apps and other Cloud services in PC and mobile environments, plus Chrome, Mac and mobile operating systems.
Candidate must be able to read and write English and perform basic mathematical calculations, communicate well and work harmoniously with others. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop and carry up to 50 lbs. and sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
Minimum education requirements: High School Diploma; Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification, or 2 years of documented employment in an IT support role with similar responsibilities.

Schedule and Salary: This is a full-time position (37.5 hrs./week); must be flexible to cover weekday shifts including evenings, and occasional weekend hours. Position is available immediately. Starting salary is $39,175.00, DOQ

IT Services – Computer Aide (Part-Time)
The Glenview Public Library is looking to hire part-time Computer Aides. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Acting as a first contact for assisting patrons and staff with technology issues;
• Performing basic care and maintenance of Library computer hardware;
• Assisting in staff and patron training as it relates to Library-provided equipment and services.
Position requires excellent communication, customer service, and computer support skills. The ideal candidate will possess a basic knowledge of technology equipment: Must be able to troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues to resolution. Technical Requirements: Must be familiar with a wide range of technology equipment including computers, wireless mobile devices, operating systems and applications. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds.
Schedule: A minimum of 14 hours per week; opportunities exist for candidates available to cover weekday afternoons, evening and weekend hours.
Hiring Range: Minimum $9.00/hour DOQ.
