Please note: To renew items, view holds, or pay fines online, you will need to log into the “My Account” feature of the catalog with your library card barcode number and a password. See Renewing & Reserving Materials section below for log-in instructions.
Most materials can be renewed or reserved at the Circulation Desk, by phone, and at public computer stations. Materials can also be renewed or reserved online by visiting “MY ACCOUNT” on the Library catalog. Sign into your account with your library card number and password. The password you are currently using will work with the new catalog. Otherwise, the generic password is PATRON. If you don’t know your password or need help with your account, please contact the Circulation Department at 847-729-7500. Service Desk Staff (Readers, AV, Reference, Youth, and Technology Services) is also available to assist you with online catalog questions. The Library offers a secure and convenient way to pay your fines and fees online with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover.
Receive notice when your materials are due and hold items are ready for pick up by email. Access the Request for E-mail Notification form to register for email notices. Some email filters block the delivery of notices. Use the Test Your E-mail Address form to be sure that your notices will be delivered. If you don’t receive the test message or have other questions about setting up email account notification, please contact the Circulation Department at 847-729-7500.

Interlibrary Loan (PDF) is a service used to obtain library materials (books, articles, and audiovisual items) from other libraries when they are not available at the Glenview Library. This patron service follows policies and procedures agreed upon by the cooperating libraries. If you have any questions concerning an existing Interlibrary loan, call 847-729-7500 or email the Interlibrary Loan Department.

Residents of the Incorporated Village of Glenview, whether they own or rent property, are eligible for a Glenview Public Library card at no cost, upon presentation of proof of residency and proper identification.
Property owners residing in unincorporated Cook County are considered by law to be non-residents. Non-residents must purchase a library card in order to use the Glenview Public Library.
Businesses located within the Village of Glenview (i.e., that are actually doing business and have a permanent business address within the Village of Glenview) are eligible to apply for and obtain Business Library Cards from the Glenview Public Library, free of charge. Businesses located (whether owning or renting) in the GPL Non-Resident Service Area may purchase Business Library Cards for an annual fee calculated on the same basis as for non-resident taxpayers.

Using the digital media service MyMediaMall, Glenview Public Library cardholders can download eBooks and eAudiobooks from the comfort of your home or office 24/7. No need to worry over late fees.
